Had a grand time with Jean working on some headshots for her acting portfoio. We set up a quick backdrop and used a few different lighting setups.
Last night I had the opportunity to take 28 headshots for Evergreen Consulting Group, a Portland-based energy conservation business with a staff that is spread over multiple states. They came together last night for their annual Christmas party at the Jopa NW Grill in Beaverton.
Wendy and Jessica at Jopa NW Grill were very helpful in allowing me to scout the restaurant before the shoot and in arranging a location for the shoot in the restaurant. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to see how good their food was. I’ll have to get back there some time soon.
Since this was an on-site event, we took a pretty simple set of gear. We ended up using a strobe into a reflective umbrella that was half-collapsed, aimed down at the subject and a white foam-core reflector just off of center as the key and fill lights. Another hotshoe strobe was zoomed and aimed into the Thunder Grey paper background.
We were able to get all of the headshots done as the employees and guests arrived so things went quickly.
Then we did a last-minute “couples pictures” set next to the Christmas tree in the restaurant. Everyone was great to work with and I had a lot of fun getting everyone’s pictures.
So, this weekend I’m doing the post and getting the images ready to deliver. I’m also trying to soothe a really sore throat from a combination of a head-cold and almost 2 hours of non-stop talking. Whew.
I’ll post some examples of the images if I can get a release from the customer.
