Wow a year goes by so fast!
Tonight we set up for this year’s Help Portrait event. We’re in a different studio this year. Much smaller but still very nice and it looks like we’ve got a great bunch of people to work with.
Heather, the event coordinator, estimates that we’ll have 72 families to provide portraits for this year. What a blessing it is to be able to give using the art that we love so much.
More after the jump…
The day started off a little slow as we had a greater number of no-shows this year than last. I guess most people just aren’t “morning people”.
As the morning went on, things started to pick up. We had a good number of photographers that rotated though the various shooting stations and I think everyone got a chance to do a portrait session.
The volunteers that were there to help organize the event and to assist the families and photographers were absolutely amazing! It would have been a nightmare without their help.
It was a long day, with a lot of standing, but it was all worth it when we got to see the smiles on the faces of the people we were able to bless with nice photos. A bonus was an email that the group got before the event was even done, letting us know that we had really brightened the holidays for one young man that had missed both his school pictures and the photo session that was planned for his family. Now he had a great picture to share this year.
Thanks again to everyone that helped out! I look forward to doing it all again soon.
